2.1 Documents Required for Claims

Date-of-joining confirmation and valid photo identification are required when submitting an insurance claim. Additional documents may be requested by the insurer during claim assessment.

2.2 Coverage Eligibility

Coverage is applicable to eligible individuals who have registered in advance for trekking and adventure packages officially booked through Himalaya Shelter, subject to confirmation of the policy arrangement with ASC360.

The policy applies only to eligible trekking activities below 6,000 metres and covers the duration of the approved itinerary. Mountaineering activities, whether below or above 6,000 metres, are not covered under the stated ₹50-per-day rate.

Coverage is subject to the final terms and conditions approved by the insurer.

2.3 Definition and Duration of Adventure Activity

For the purpose of the policy, an adventure activity refers to an activity undertaken by a registered customer after an official booking, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the relevant authorities and under the supervision of designated staff.

Coverage begins on the first day of the confirmed Himalaya Shelter trek itinerary and ends on the final day of that itinerary, subject to the applicable policy terms.

Coverage does not automatically extend to activities undertaken outside the approved itinerary.

2.4 Enrolment and Verification

Himalaya Shelter will maintain the required registration details for eligible participants and share the relevant information with the insurer as required under the confirmed insurance arrangement.

In the event of a claim, the participant's details will be verified against the registration information submitted to the insurer.

Documents that may be required include:

  • Insurance enrollment or registration confirmation.
  • Original booking receipt, where required.
  • Valid photo identification.
  • Indemnity bond, where applicable.
  • Evidence of registration for the trekking activity.
  • Incident-related documents establishing that the event occurred during the covered activity.

All claims remain subject to the insurer's assessment and the applicable policy terms.

No premium refund will be provided for the deletion of a participant after the covered activity has commenced. The full premium will be chargeable for activities covered under the policy, subject to the applicable terms.
