Why Is Dodital Called the Birthplace of Lord Ganesha?

It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born in Dodital.

The Mythological Story of Dodital

It is believed that Goddess Parvati created Ganesha out of the dirt from her body and told him he was her son and she told him to guard the entrance of the lake and nobody should enter, as she was taking a bath in the lake. But Ganesh didn't know who Lord Shiva was. So Ganesh stopped Shiva on entrance and Shiva was also unaware that he was created by Parvati. So from here Ganesh didn’t allow him to enter so in anger Shiva cut off his head. So Parvati was shattered and she was very angry then Shiva gave his life back by giving him the head of a baby elephant. This is a commonly known mythological story and it is believed that this incident happened here in Dodital.

There’s no practical evidence; it is just the local belief of people.
